Oakvillegreen Conservation Association has a very impressive list of accomplishments. Their President, Liz Benneian, won the national 2009 Hometown Hero Award. To help others become more successful in their advocacy efforts, Liz has been running free half day “Organize to Win” workshops for other community groups. FUN ran one of them at our 2011 AGM on May 7, in Sudbury.
Looking for ways to generate funds?
Durand Neighbourhood Association in Hamilton has been organizing Grand Durand Garden Tours. The self-directed tour allowed visitors a peek behind the garden gates of nine or 10 of the City’s finest addresses. Proceeds of the tours ($18,000.00) went to the association for beautification of the Durand Park.
