2014 Annual General Meeting Report

President’s Report:

Archie noted that although FUN has not been especially active in 2013, but we are looking to make 2014 a more vigorous year, particularly in view of the municipal and provincial elections. Archie gave special thanks to David, Bill, and Geoff for their work during 2013.

Financial Report for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2013

Assets as of January 01, 2013: $3,493.22
Assets as of December 31, 2013: $3,646.13

Election of Officers and Executive Committee for 2014/2015:

President: Archie Campbell, Dalhousie Community Association (Ottawa)
Vice-President: Karen Speers, Downtown Residents Association (Windsor)
Treasurer: Don Stewart, Federation of Citizens Associations of Ottawa-Carleton
Secretary: David Josephy, Old University Neighbourhood R. A. (Guelph)

Members at Large:

William Phillips, South Rosedale Residents Association
Geoff Kettel, Federation of North Toronto Residents Associations
Neil Sinclair, Greater Beach Neighbourhood Association (GBNA)

Establishment of Membership Dues:

Remain at $50 annually for voting members whose representatives are eligible to be elected to the Executive Committee.

The business meeting was followed by two excellent presentations

Guest speakers:

Leanne Piper Councillor, Ward 5, City of Guelph; “Everything I Need to Know about Politics I Learned in Kindergarten: Ten Elementary Lessons from the Sandbox” and Sue Langlois & Laurie McCannell, Capital Region Citizens’ Coalition for the Protection of the Environment: “Time for change: The Waste Industry in Ontario.”
